808 State’s Original Line-up Set To Reunite

We announced a couple of months back that 808 State will be reissuing some of their albums this year and now we can reveal that the original line-up are set to reunite for a tour, according to co-founder Gerald Simpson that is.

It has been more than 20 years after the group’s debut, Newbuild, and Simpson and Graham Massey are reportedly eager to return to their acid-house roots for a tour and maybe even new recordings.

Simpson, aka A Guy Called Gerald, reportedly revealed his plans in an interview at London’s Red Bull Music Academy. According to Exclaim, he and Massey had a “serious discussion” about reuniting the original 808 State and will make an official announcement “in the months to come”.

As usual with these things nothing is confirmed yet, but hopefully there will be more news to come. In the meantime have a look at this below:
