Dev Hynes aka Lightspeed Champion, is back with a brand new single, Marlene, on 25th January 2010.

Dev Hynes plays every instrument on all three b-sides himself – a concerto; a cover of Serge Gainsbourg’s 69 Année Erotique (completely in French!) and his version of (He’s) The Great Imposter, written in 1961 by eighteen-year old Sharon Sheeley, the fiancé and songwriter of Eddie Cochran.

Marlene will be a glimpse of what’s to come from Lightspeed Champion’s forthcoming album, the much anticipated follow-up to 2008’s Falling Off The Lavender Bridge, details of which will be announced here soon.

Below is a sneak preview of Dev Hynes in the studio.

Marlene will be available on 10” vinyl (RUG345) and via digital download (RUG345D). The tracklisting is as follows:

1 – Concerto .2 “So Long! So Long!”
2 – Marlene
3 – 69 Année Érotique feat. Valentine Fillol-Cordier
4 – (He’s) The Great Imposter
