Mercury Prize 2011 Nominations To Be Streamed Live

July 18, 2011 by

The most contentious prize in music, the Mercury, is back tomorrow with the announcement of the annual shortlist due to take place in London at 11:30am.

This year organisers have made it possible to stream the announcement via the Mercury Prize Facebook page where you’ll see Lauren Laverne announcing all shortlisted acts.

Those that like to speculate are already tipping PJ Harvey to get the nod, with the following bands also expected to get on the shortlist: Adele, Wild Beasts, James Blake, Anna Calvi, Radiohead and The Horrors.

Personally, we’d hope to also see Metronomy in there and you can expect the usual token Jazz and Folk records to make their way in, too.

The overall winner of the 2011 Prize will be decided and announced at the Barclaycard Mercury Prize Awards Show, which will be broadcast live on BBC Two on Tuesday 6 September 201
