Peaking Lights Announce New Album ‘Lucifer’ & Live Dates
March 27, 2012 by Addict Music
West coast two-piece Peaking Lights have just released details of their upcoming LP ‘Lucifer’, due out on Weird World on Monday June 18th, 2012. Since the success of ’936′ Aaron Doyes and Indra Dunis have been working on their textured and rich sound in a Brooklyn studio, enlisting the help of engineer Al Carson (Oneohtrix, Yeasayer) to put the record together.
Describing ‘Lucifer’ as a darker version of some of their previous work, Doyes says “To us this record is about play and playfulness, unconditional love, rhythms and pulses, creation and vibration”. We expect more of their gritty disco-inspired soundscapes played on analog equipment with bigger risks taken than on the previous release.
As ever, the band have released one of their mixtapes to get us all in the mood, which you can listen to above. ‘Lucifer’ is available to pre-order on Weird World now and will be out on vinyl, CD and digital release.
Peaking Lights are playing the following UK dates this summer:
June 2nd – Field Day, London
June 3rd – Forbidden Fruit, Dublin
June 5th – Brudenell, Leeds w/ Julia Holter
June 6th – XOYO, London w/ Julia Holter
