The Dead Weather have revealed they have started working on their second album and will be releasing it as early as this April.

According to band member Jack White, the collective, which includes Alison Mosshart of the Kills, have almost recorded the sequel to ‘Horehound’, which they released in July of last year.

Speaking to Australian radio station Triple J White explained: “The Dead Weather are finishing recording the last couple of songs. I’m going to start mixing in the next two weeks, so yeah it should be out in April.”

White also revealed that the new record is “bluesier and heavier than we ever thought we could be”.

The first single to be taken from the untitled album will be called ‘Blue Blood Blues’.
