The Dodos have announced they will follow up 2008′s ‘Visiter’ with ‘Time To Die’ on 31st August, produced by Phil Elk (Fleet Foxes, The Shins).

Frontman Meric Long said of the album: “After Visiter, we had a lot of options for which direction to go. But I knew we wanted to make a rock record. Being an acoustic band – primarily, at least – sort of works against this idea, but Phil’s production showcased that side of our band.”

“I’m glad that we were able to keep things simple on this record,” says Long, “Because when your band gets a little popular, there’s this tendency to say things like, ‘Let’s add an orchestra on this one!” That works for some people, but it would detract from this band.”

The tracklisting of ‘Time To Die’ is:

‘Small Deaths’
‘Longform’
‘Fables’
‘The Strums’
‘This Is A Business’
‘Two Medicines’
‘Troll Nacht’
‘Acorn Factory’
‘A Time To Die’

The Dodos then play:

SEPTEMBER
1 Birmingham Glee Club
2 Bristol Thekla
3 London Bush Hall
4 Glasgow King Tuts
5 Manchester Ruby Lounge
13 End of Road Festival
