The Strokes To Release New Album In September

After announcing that The Strokes have begun work on their next album in New York, the band have now said that they are aiming to release the follow-up to ‘First Impressions Of Earth’ in September

In an interview with the BBC, drummer Fab Moretti said he and band were enjoying recording again:

“We’ve been recording a bunch – basic tracks are done. Now we’re just running around like kids in a candy shop,” he told the BBC.

“Coming back in and writing music was kind of like riding a bicycle.”

Moretti added that he wanted the album out “hopefully around September”

The Strokes have also planned to begin rehearsing their old material soon in preparation for their headlining slots at the Isleof Wight and Rockness festivals in June.

“I’m nervous as hell. It’s giving me butterflies in my stomach,” he said.

”To be honest I haven’t really been thinking about the old songs as we’re so into recording these new ones.

“It’s less the songs themselves and more the response from the band that I miss terribly. I’m excited.”
