Veronica Falls - Waiting For Something To Happen cover

London quartet Veronica Falls release their second album this month following their critically acclaimed self titled debut. They’re your typical navel gazing indie pop band with songs to match. Comparing their debut to Waiting For Something To Happen the biggest element of change has to be the darkness – it seems to have been abandoned in exchange for a brighter more colorful spectrum of songs. But what is reoccurring is the sweet charm of the songs. On both albums you’ll find the elements that make Veronica Falls’ sound; the contrasting male and female harmonies and a knack for well crafted melodies. Standout tracks ‘Tell Me’, ‘Teenage’, ‘Waiting For Something To Happen’ and ‘Buried Alive’ are purely enjoyable.

So if you’re looking for more of the same nostalgic guitar pop from a band with consistency, you’ve got it with Waiting For Something To Happen. They’re not going to change the world with this album, but they might make you smile.
