Before they embark on a UK tour with US troubadour Frank Turner, Fake Problems are releasing new single Diamond Rings.

The song opens with a slap of heavy bass and a catchy chord progression ala Franz Ferdinand and remains in this mould throughout. Over the music lead singer Chris Farren weaves a cryptic narrative delivered with his guttural vocals which ascend during the choruses in an attempt to grab you by the proverbial and are backed by a few camp backing singers. Sounding at times like a deranged pirate, it’s his vocal efforts which hold the song together and seem to be its only standout feature.

Diamond Rings is a rousing effort from the band, but one that does little to inspire.
