The Gaslight Anthem Back Seat

The Gaslight Anthem’s next slice of Americana comes in the shape of The Backseat. Having conquered all with their incredibly successful album The 59 Sound and playing a once in a lifetime Glastonbury performance with Bruce Springsteen this year, it seems a little strange that they’re releasing another single of their album, but not unpleasant.

As we’ve now come to expect with the Gaslight Anthem, Brian Fallon spins a tale of a broken life in a small town over an earnest soundtrack. This time it’s fleshed out a bit more, with dramatic drum roles and ascending guitars, but the essence of the song ultimately remains the same as the quartet’s previous efforts.

‘The Back Seat’ is a fitting end to the summer for the band and will surely wet their fans appetite for new material.
